We had a great St. Paddy's Day yesterday. The kids both wore green (although Logan had to wear a tank top with a shirt under it to get the 'outfit' just right).
We weren't able to get the traditional green eggs and toast and milk from years previous - ran out of time in the morning and for dinner....this time change is killin' us all!
But, we delivered some 'whittle gifts' to some neighbors and Grandma Karen (sorry Grandma Kathy - we'll get you on the next holiday....).
I bought a few of these last year at Target and threw in some 'gold nuggets' and plastic green coins.
Wrapped 'em up and took them to some surprised neighbors. It was fun.
I also took some 'pots of gold' into the teachers at the kids' schools.
I have tried to do something fun for them for most holidays.
I've tried to make them cute and inexpensive. This time I was wracking my brain for a week or two wondering what I could do. The pots came to me while driving around one day.
I bought these little clay pots at Michaels for $ .68.
Spray painted them.....thank goodness for nice weather this week.
Printed this out and glue-dotted it to a wooden skewer I had.
Threw a ribbon around the little pot - and wha-la!
I think they turned our pretty cute. The 'nuggets' were on sale at Target, which made it all the better for me!!!
The teachers got the pots and the aides, etc. all got the sign with two nuggets glued to them.
So fun to do this for others.
Bothe kids wanted to make more 'treats' for other people and I love that they enjoy giving unexpected gifts.
I'm so LUCKY!
so cute and fun!!
